Chicken kuzhambu recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chicken - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Potato - 2
  3. Chopped tomato - 2
  4. Thinly sliced onion - 2
  5. Slit green chili - 4
  6. Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup
  7. Chopped coriander leaf - 20
  8. Curry leaf - 10
  9. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  11. Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Coriander powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  13. Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  14. Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  15. Cardamom - 2
  16. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  17. Clove - 3
  18. Oil - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  19. Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Skin the potato and cut into 4 cubes.
  2. Grind coconut into a fine paste by adding little water as possible.
  3. Marinate chicken by adding garam masala powder, salt to taste for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan; add onion sauté for 45 seconds. Now add cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom and sauté until it turns golden brown.
  5. Now add chili powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste, ginger paste and sauté until raw smell is gone (45 second).
  6. Now add tomato, green chili, curry leaves, coriander leaves and sauté for a minute.
  7. Now add the marinated chicken and mix well.
  8. Now add potato, coriander powder, salt to taste, one cup of water and mix well.
  9. Cover and cook for 8 minutes.
  10. Now add coconut paste and continue cooking for 6 more minutes. After 6 minutes remove from heat; garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
