Chettinadu chicken recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Chicken pieces - 1/2 kilogram
  2. Chettinadu masala powder - 3 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  3. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  4. Cloves - 1
  5. Cardamom - 1
  6. Slit Green chili - 4
  7. Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  8. Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (tsp.)
  9. Chopped Tomato - 250 grams
  10. Finely Chopped Onion - 250 grams
  11. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  12. Oil - 1/4 cup
  13. Salt - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. In a pan heat oil. Now add cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom and sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Now add the chopped onion, green chili and sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
  3. Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become mushy.
  4. Now add the ginger paste, garlic paste and cook until oil separates.
  5. Now add the chicken, turmeric powder, salt and cook the chicken it 3/4 cooked. (add water if needed usually chicken will sweat some water)
  6. Now add Chettinadu masala power and cook until the raw smell is gone.
  7. Continue cooking the Chettinadu chicken curry until the oil starts to separate and the right thickness is achieved.

NOTES:

  1. Goes well with idly, dosai, biryani, curd rice
