Rice payasam (kheer) recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rice - 1 Cup
  2. Jaggery - 200 grams
  3. Cashews - 6
  4. Cardamom - 4
  5. Ghee - 2 table spoon

PREPARATION:

  1. Soak rice for an hour in water. Fry the cashews in ghee.
  2. Grind the rice into a batter (dosai batter consistency). Boil the batter in a pan. Reduce heat and simmer.
  3. Now dissolve the jaggery with 1/4 cup of water and add to the cooking batter.
  4. Crush the cardamom and add to the cooking batter. Cook until the rice is cooked and right consistency is reached.
  5. Now add the fried cashews along with the ghee stir well and serve.
