INGREDIENTS:

  1. Parboiled rice - 1 cup
  2. Fresh shredded coconut - 3 tablespoon (tbsp.)
  3. Sugar - 1/4 cup
  4. Salt water - as needed.
  5. Warm water - as needed

PREPARATION:

  1. -- Preparing the rice --
    1. Soak the rice in salt water for 10 minutes. Filter and keep it aside.
    2. Dry the rice under fan by spreading the rice on a clean piece of cloth. The rice should be slightly damp and not very dry.

    4. Now grind the rice in the mixer to powder neither very coarse nor very fine.
    5. Dry roast the powdered rice in the skillet or kadai for few min and keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl mix powdered rice, sugar, shredded coconut.
  3. Now sprinkle warm water and mix until the mixture reached a hard chapati dough consistency. refer image below
  4. Now take a handful and press hard (refer image below how the pressed kozhakkattai look). do the same with rest of the dough and serve.
