Pumpkin halva recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Shredded yellow pumpkin - 3 cup
  2. Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
  3. Powdered cardamom - 3
  4. Turmeric or saffron - 1 pinch (optional)
  5. Almond - 2 teaspoon (tsp.)
  6. Cashew - 10
  7. Ghee - 5 teaspoon (tsp.)

PREPARATION:

  1. Roast the almond, cashew in ghee and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan heat the shredded pumpkin (no need to add water) cook them until raw smell is gone.
  3. Now add the sugar and continue cooking.
  4. Couple of minutes later add the color or turmeric powder.
  5. Once the sugar is melted and the pumpkin is cooked well. Add the ghee.
  6. Mix well and cook this for couple of minutes. Now add the roasted almond, cashew mix well and serve.

NOTES:

  1. You can also add 1 cup of milk and cook. Make sure you reduce it to make a think halva.
